• Shopping and app activity such as scans, saved products, lists, product searches, household preferences, watchlist ingredients, feedback, and settings you choose to provide.
• Device and usage information such as pages viewed, app performance, approximate location when you allow location-based store features, and standard log data used to keep BuyTheWay reliable.
• Payment status and subscription events from our payment processor. We do not store full card numbers in BuyTheWay.

• To provide product scans, Household Fit Scores, comparison tools, saved lists, profile-based preferences, and subscription features.
• To personalize results around the household rules, allergies, sensitivities, pets, or shopping preferences you add.
• To process subscriptions, prevent misuse, troubleshoot errors, respond to feedback, improve product data quality, and maintain app security.
• To send transactional messages related to your account, verification, subscriptions, support requests, and important service updates.

Sharing and advertising

• We do not sell your personal information. Sponsored placements, when present, are clearly labeled and do not change Household Fit Scores or override your rules.
• We share limited information with service providers that help operate BuyTheWay, including hosting, authentication, analytics, payments, email delivery, and error monitoring.
• We may share information when required by law, to protect rights and safety, or as part of a business transfer such as a merger, acquisition, or asset sale.

Your choices

• You can update profile settings, household preferences, saved products, lists, notifications, and appearance settings inside the app.
• You can request access, correction, deletion, or export of your personal information by contacting us from the account email associated with your BuyTheWay account.
• You can manage paid subscriptions through the billing portal. Deleting the app from a device does not automatically cancel an active subscription.

Data retention and security

• We keep information for as long as needed to provide BuyTheWay, meet legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements.
• We use technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect information, but no internet service can guarantee absolute security.
• BuyTheWay is intended for adults managing household shopping decisions. It is not directed to children under 13.

Health and product information

• BuyTheWay provides informational product intelligence and shopping guidance. It is not a substitute for medical, nutrition, veterinary, or professional advice.
• Product labels, ingredients, prices, availability, and brand claims can change. Always review the physical product label and consult a qualified professional for personal health decisions.

Changes to this policy

• We may update this Privacy Policy as BuyTheWay changes. The effective date above shows when this version took effect.
• If changes are material, we will provide notice in the app, on the website, or by another reasonable method.
